This report captures just a few of the amazing milestones we’ve achieved this year and celebrates the resilience, growth, and success of the children, adolescents, adults, and families we support each day.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month (DDAM)—a time to recognize the talents, achievements, and contributions of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Kelvin F., the author of this story, is a developmentally disabled individual who has challenges with verbal communication and uses the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) to express himself. Through PECS, Kelvin has shared his inspiring journey of growth, confidence, and independence since joining the Community Habilitation (Com Hab) program in his own words.  

When Anthony, a neurodiverse individual, first joined Birch’s Day Habilitation program in 2018, he struggled with depression, self-care, and daily life skills. However, through the unwavering support of Birch staff and his own determination, Anthony gradually gained confidence and became more independent. Today, he is pursuing goals that he once thought were beyond his reach, driven by his resilience and newfound sense of empowerment.
